Alli Curran

Dr. Allison (Alli) Curran

Dr. Allison (Alli) Curran serves as the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Policy and Capabilities (P&C). She serves concurrently as the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer for the Intelligence Community and the Director for Science and Technology within ODNI. In these positions, Dr. Curran serves as the chief representative of the Director of National Intelligence for science and technology, assists the Director in formulating a long-term strategy for scientific advances in the field of intelligence, and chairs both the Director of National Intelligence Science and Technology Committee and the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer Council.

Dr. Curran is a seasoned Intelligence Community professional with broad venture capital, innovation, and technology policy experience. A chemist by training, she spent her early years working on the application of technology and data to overcome operational problems. She provides support to policy makers and senior leaders on emerging tech issues and works across the US Government to enhance the understanding of strategic technology competition and global tech ecosystems.

Dr. Curran has worked within two Administrations through a detail of Executive Office of the President’s Office of Science and Technology Policy as the Assistant Director for Intelligence Programs, as the National Security Council’s Director for Emerging Technology Threats.

Prior to joining government service, Dr. Curran was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Counter-terrorism Forensic Science Research Unit. Dr. Curran received her doctorate in analytical chemistry from Florida International University, and two bachelors of science one in chemistry and one forensic science from the University of New Haven.
