ODNI Private Sector Programs
The ODNI engages with the private sector through a wide variety of programs including: acquisition, analytic outreach, threat briefings, incident response, and cooperative research and development.
Academic Outreach – ODNI has a long history of academic outreach and engagement with academia through its Centers for Academic Excellence (CAE), sponsorship of minority serving institutions, programs to foster STEM, IC Post Doc program, internships, and more. The ODNI plays a leadership role in coordinating academic outreach efforts across the Intelligence Community through the Academic Engagement Community of Practice. Public-Private Analytic Engagement Program (AEP) – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the ODNI Executive Agent for the Public-Private AEP to collaborate on topics of mutual interest. Topic teams publish unclassified analytic deliverables that are disseminated across the government and private sector and are available to the public. Teams have been asked to present their work at various conferences and association events. Public-Private Talent Exchange (PPTE) – The Intelligence Community (IC) Public-Private Talent Exchange (PPTE) program facilitates the rotation of IC personnel to the private sector, and personnel from the private sector to the IC. Challenges in recent years, from ransomware attacks to COVID-19, have made it clear that the collective threat we face is dynamic. No sector alone can tackle these challenges.
