ODNI Private Sector Programs

 

The ODNI engages with the private sector through a wide variety of programs including: acquisition, analytic outreach, threat briefings, incident response, and cooperative research and development.

 

Intelligence, Science and Technology Partnership (INSTEP) – INSTEP connects experts from the private sector and IC to discuss innovation, research, and technology at all Technology Readiness Levels. Learn more at INSTEP.

 

Augmenting Intelligence Using Machines (AIM) – The AIM Strategy outlines how the IC will incorporate AIM capabilities in a manner that resolves key IC legal, policy, cultural, technical, and structural challenges while producing optimally effective analytic and operational contributions to the intelligence mission. Academic Outreach – ODNI facilitates and coordinates IC-wide outreach to academic institutions and subject matter experts through think tanks, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), and national labs on matters that may impact U.S. national security. Public-Private Analytic Engagement Program (AEP) – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the ODNI Executive Agent for the Public-Private AEP to collaborate on topics of mutual interest. Topic teams publish unclassified analytic deliverables that are disseminated across the government and private sector and are available to the public. Teams have been asked to present their work at various conferences and association events. Public-Private Talent Exchange (PPTE) – IC CHCO pilots the PPTE which entails mobility assignments from the IC to the private sector, and issues the PPTE Playbook, which describes IC programs and policies that facilitate those interactions. Trade Associations Partners (TAP) Group – ODNI hosts a biannual meeting in the Washington, D.C. area for IC organizations to engage with trade-association representatives in a mutually beneficial venue for networking, information sharing, and provide the opportunity to understand initiatives that may impact U.S. national security.
