(October 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community completed an evaluation of the Central Intelligence Agency’s handling of anomalous health incidents and associated complaints made to the Central Intelligence Agency Office of Inspector General.

(July 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) evaluated the effectiveness and maturity of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) information security program and practices. The IC IG performed this evaluation using Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Inspector General Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA) Reporting Core Metrics, developed by the Office of Management and Budget, Department of Homeland Security, and the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency. The IC IG auditors assessed ODNI information security policies, procedures, and practices against the five information security function areas outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity (April 16, 2018), using the maturity model referenced in the FY 2022 Core IG Metrics Implementation Analysis and Guidelines.

(August 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) completed the Classification Review of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Fiscal Year 2021. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, Public Law 116- 92 § 6721, requires the IC IG to submit a report on the ODNI classification and declassification processes to the congressional intelligence committees.

(August 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) completed a review of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence pandemic preparedness and response
(INS-2021-002). The review assessed ODNI emergency management plans and practices to mitigate the effects of a pandemic emergency, and determined the extent to which ODNI developed and implemented workforce health and safety measures in accordance with broader, governmentwide guidance.

(July 2022) In 2019, Assistant Inspectors General for Audit for several Intelligence Community (IC) Offices of Inspector General (OIG) met to discuss each element’s most challenging Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) issues. The OIGs concluded that Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) programs maintained consistently low maturity levels during annual FISMA evaluations. In fiscal year (FY) 2020, the IC OIGs initiated a joint project to identify reasons why Intelligence Community elements remain at a low maturity level for implementing continuous monitoring requirements.
