Edward M. Gistaro

Edward GistaryEdward M. Gistaro, Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Mission Integration, formerly served as the Deputy DNI for Intelligence Integration, where he oversaw the production of strategic intelligence analysis and guided IC collection and resource allocations in support of senior policymakers and operators.

Mr. Gistaro began his intelligence career with CIA in 1989 and has served in a number of management and analytical positions including Deputy Director of the CIA/DI's Middle East and North Africa Office, Deputy Chief of the Iran Operations Division, and as the National Intelligence Officer for Transnational Threats.  He has also served in the CIA's Counterterrorism Center, as a sub-saharan Africa team chief and as a member of the President's Daily Brief staff.

Mr. Gistaro has twice won the CIA's Director's Award and is a recipient of the George Bush Award for Excellence in Counterterrorism.  He attended Georgetown's School of Foreigh Service and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

He and his wife live in Arlington and are the parents of two teenage daughters.
