Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper announced today the establishment of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center. National Counterintelligence Executive William “Bill” Evanina will assume the additional role as the NCSC Director.

Consistent with 50 U.S.C. 3306(a), the Director of National Intelligence disclosed to the public on March 6, 2014, the aggregate amount of appropriations requested for Fiscal Year 2015. The amount of $45.6 billion excluded funding required to support overseas contingency operations. That disclosure was updated June 30, 2014, to include an updated aggregate amount of appropriations requested for Fiscal Year 2015 of $49.4 billion.

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), announced today that it is launching a speech recognition challenge contest, Automatic Speech recognition in Reverberant Environments (ASpIRE), to enable automatic speech recognition technology to perform well across a variety of acoustic environments and recording scenarios on natural conversational speech

We can confirm that U.S. citizens Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller have been allowed to depart the DPRK and are on their way home, accompanied by DNI Clapper, to re-join their families.
