Iran Mission Manager

The role of the Mission Manager recommended by the WMD Commission and endorsed by the President is a new and important one. Mission Managers will not directly manage operations or analysis, but will instead lead the Intelligence Community at a strategic level. Mission Managers do not directly manage operations or analysis, but instead lead the Intelligence Community at a strategic level by integrating collection and analysis, identifying and filling gaps in intelligence, and planning and ensuring the implementation of strategies, among other duties. The Iran Mission Manager's Office was established in November 2005.

The Iran Mission Manager is responsible for integrating collection and analysis on Iran across the Intelligence Community, identifying and filling gaps in intelligence, and planning and ensuring the implementation of strategies, among other duties. Given the high priority accorded Iran as an intelligence target by the highest levels of the government, it is critical for the Community to have a talented and experienced team to rope together and focus all the IC's efforts against Iran.
